NZG EXTENDS REFURBISHMENT ACTIVITY
Nottingham Zinc Group has increased its commitment to recycling and
refurbishment by recently commissioning a new high temperature burn-off
oven. The investment in the specially-designed oven, along with
the associated material handling equipment, significantly increases NZG's
existing in-house capacity to recycle and refurbish supermarket trollies.
The oven, which operates in excess of 500ºC, is
designed to remove residual coatings on batches of zinc plated shopping
trollies prior to stripping, cleaning, washdown and replating.
Blayne Flint, Nottingham Zinc Group's Managing Director, has
clear views on the benefits. "This investment increases our capacity
to refurbish steel shopping carts by over 300 units per day and improves
our profile in this competitive market. It helps us to keep costs
and quality under control and our customers benefit from faster turnaround and
improved quality assurance."
The burn-off oven is part of a longer term strategic investment in new
plant and processes at all the company's UK premises.
